How to Write the Best Review Request Email Template

Ever wonder why even if you are sending 4 or 5 feedback/review request emails to your buyers, the numbers for your feedbacks/reviews are not going up? Are you getting tired in signing up from one feedback software to another just to know what feedback tool really works? Do you want to know the secret of your competitors in gaining hundreds of feedbacks/reviews every month? Do you want to know how to write the best review request email?

Listed below are tips on how to compose the BEST review request email template:

1. Be thankful to your buyers.

Every sale is valuable!

No matter how big or small the order is, when a buyer purchases from your store, you will always gain something. Aside from the monetary profit, remember that they chose your product among hundreds of other products and brands out there. THEY CHOSE TO TRUST YOU and there is nothing wrong with letting them know that you appreciate it by thanking them.

One of a way to compose the best review request email is by  Ending your email with a big THANK YOU. It will surely puts a smile on your customer’s face.

2. Set the right tone

Setting the right tone for your email to strengthen the emotional connection you are building with your buyers. How you write the words that you want to say will determine how you want your buyers to respond to your email.

I encourage you to use personal pronouns such as I or We instead of “Dear Valued Customer” to let your buyers feel like they are talking to a friend and not a business. Let them know that you mean well by adding phrases such as “How are you doing” or “I hope you are having a great day.”

As much as possible use positive words and avoid writing your template if you are having a bad day as it will reflect in your letter. Remember, your buyers can’t see you while they are reading your letter and the only way for them to know how you are feeling is by the use of words in your template. This is one important tip in writing the best review request email.

Smile! Trust me, your buyers know if you were smiling when you wrote your letter.

3. Keep it simple.

Keep your email short but meaningful.

Your buyers don’t want to read a documentary of what you and your product can do for them. They’ve read that before they purchase the product. You don’t want to bore them with details they don’t need. They want to know what you want. GET TO THE POINT.

Here’s an example of two feedback emails to help you understand what I’m talking about.

“Hi buyer!

I hope you are having a great day.

I just want to thank you for your purchase. You made the right choice!

You’re on the go and have better things to worry about than what undergarments to choose in the morning.

By the way, if you have time please don’t forget to leave a product review and seller’s feedback. We’d love to hear what you think.

All the best,

“Hi Buyer!

We are just checking in to make sure your order has arrived safe and were not damaged in transit.

It would be a huge help if you could leave a review and let me know what you think. It could take just 5 seconds. Amazon thrives on authentic reviews and as a small business owner that would help significantly.

If there are any issues, please let us know.

Have a great day!

All the best,

Note: If your product requires instruction on how to use it, attach a separate file instead.

4. Give them a way to reach you.

Have you ever wondered why some questions about your product end up as a feedback or a product review when you are open to answering these questions directly? Are you getting frustrated with buyers posting unexpected issues in your feedback and review page instead of getting in touch with you?

40 years ago, the idea of shopping without leaving the comforts of your home is almost close to impossible. And now that it is actually happening you can’t expect everybody to be able to cope up with it fast and smooth. Sure, we all want to experience the beauty of online shopping but some of us actually need a lot of time to be familiar with how it works. I’m sure that your mother, father and even your grandmother are shopping online already, but do you actually believe that they’ve learned it all with just an hour in front of the computer?

Maybe your buyers want to get in touch with you directly they just don’t know how. Not everyone wants to share their bad experience with the whole world but everybody wants their issues to resolve immediately. So make it easy for your buyers to contact you. Give them instructions on how to send a direct message or better yet send them a direct link. Make their lives easier while growing your business.

5. Set the perfect time to ask for a review.

90% of your happy buyers will not bother to leave a review unless you remind them to do so. However, their responsiveness to your email depends on the time they’ve received it.

Avoid asking for a review just right after the order is shipped. Sure, you can send them an email notifying about the shipment status of their order. That is very helpful. But asking for a review/feedback this soon is useless for a lot of reason. For one, you are not allowed to leave a feedback or review if the order is not yet completed. Even if they are allowed to leave a review right after the order is shipped, what will they write about if they still haven’t tried your product? Sure they will be excited and happy with your information about their shipment but trust me, they will only remember your request for feedback if and only if they have a question or they are not satisfied with their order. You don’t want that kind of feedback reflected in your account.

Sending emails long after the order is received is not also recommended. You want your buyers to share their experience with your product and services but with online selling everywhere, do you think your buyers will still remember their experience weeks after they’ve used your product. I’m sure most of us read their emails every day but I assure you that there are still other buyers out there who seldom read their emails so give them enough time to write a review. Don’t wait for the last minute to send them your request, they might love your product but they won’t be able to tell the world about it if they are not eligible to leave a review anymore.

Set your feedback request email 1-2 days after the approximate delivery time of your product. Your buyers already had the chance to check their mail and try their order. This is the best time to leave a review as they still have a fresh experience with your product. Also, If they have any questions or issues, they will have ample time to reach out to you and to resolve the issue before they leave a feedback.

The best review request email is prefectly timed.

6. Make it catchy.

Sending feedback requests from sellers has been one of the most used campaigns not only by Amazon sellers but all sellers in general to gain more reviews and feedback. Buyers are getting fed up with this method that they’re choosing to opt out from receiving this kind of messages already and I can’t blame them. Honestly, most feedback request emails end up in my spam box.

Make your email as UNIQUE AS POSSIBLE. Add funny lines or phrases that will keep your buyers interested until they finished reading your email. Try to answer the question, what made your email different from the rest of the feedback request being sent every day.
